HELP! Goat got into Chicken Grower/finisher and possibly in labor OR Bloat?

I went out to check on her today, she was shivering a bit but alert and standing. She doesn't feel hot anymore, but I gave her another aspirin just in case and about half an ounce water/powerade.

Mom's udder shows sign of vigorous nursing, and baby shows signs of having pooped. Just about time for another shot of antibiotics. It seems like she's responding to it.

mom's acting weird now.. I'm not sure what to make of it.

She's bouncing around jumping on things and randomly jumps into the air and kicks up her heels. I had her normal morning treat and instead of just coming to me she leapt to me and bounced all around me for it. Is she sick or just excited she got to spend the night with her baby?

yup, she's just happy and bouncing around.

Twinkie's responding to the Antibiotics well, she's got enough energy to run away from me now.

Tea's vulva has come open. And hangs open. She's pushing herself against walls and pawing at the ground like crazy. I think I seen a small amount of discharge. I'm hoping that means tonight is the night. Her udder has grown some more, as well.

Yeay for getting closer to babies!
Also, get some oxytetracycline (by whatever generic name you find it in. ... biomyacin is a no sting formula) or if you can get a vet to sell you some, get some Naxcel. Both are good for respiratory infections. I have no doubt your little gal had pneumonia. It's surprising, but I'm thankful the penicillin worked! I understand no money, but when you can, you need to purchase some basic goat meds. Do you have anything for cocci prevention? Some people swear by nutridrench, but I don't use it. Take a little and put it on your tongue, you'll know why lol. And make sure you give your little one some probiotic to get that good bacteria back in her gut. And keep us updated on the soon to be momma!

Right now I just have the penicillin, however Sunday I'm getting 400$. Which will go towards getting loose minerals, vaccines, and probably some wormer.

I'm trying to think of the best way to treat all the goats, and their babies, at once. If I give the Momma goat the C&D vaccine will she pass it to her baby through the milk even though it's a week and a half old?

Is there a natural wormer I could use that'd be safe for dairy goats and their babies?

Also the penicillin I got her was for travelers (stress?) Pneumonia. Baby was being 'weaned' off momma at night, and in a new place, paired with hot humid days and chilly humid nights. I guess It's really not that surprising.

While the doe may give some immunity to the kids through the milk, don't bet on it. I used to vaccinate my baby goats with CD/T the day they were born and then every three or four weeks until they were three monthe old. After that it was one booster shot annually. Where I lived entertoxemia was extremely common. The state vet told me he thought to do with the pH of our soil. I think he was right.

I think I will.. Better safe than sorry. One does three years old and probably has never had a vaccination in her life.. Giving her a shots gonna be fun.

What gauge needle works best on adults?

STILL NO BABIES!

Can we induce her yet? Just reach in and pull them right out? I'm sure she'd be fine.

Yeah, I've gone crazy. Yesterday I gave her a twenty minute lecture on why she should have them now.
