Help! Gosling with hard crop won't move

I would get her under some heat. Sick birds get cold. And cold birds don't heal. If you can keep her warm and she is drinking, she will have the best chance of survival.

Good luck with your baby.

Thank you so much! I wrapped her in her towel and have her up against my stomach and chest for warmth. It's 90 degrees here today. Also she just pooped, and after pooping she drank a good bit of water! She is dozing in my lap, which she couldn't do earlier, I think she hurt too much to nap.

How long before I can feed her again?

And know any good girl goose names?

Oh, you can feed her now. You just wanted to withhold food if she had an impacted crop. Get her to eat something. Hard boiled eggs is great emergency food for birds. And they eat it more readily than their regular food. The faster she eats, the quicker she will heal.

I am not very good with giving names. What color is she? You might call her by her color....Rosie, Pearl, Goldie...etc.

I hope she makes a full recovery.

I believe she is a white Chinese goose. But won't know for sure as all the geese I bought were sold as assorted geese. She is yellow downed now but I can see white feather starting to grow, and she has pretty blue eyes

I do plan on taking and posting pics of my chickens, geese, and my chicken garden project in the appropriate forums. As I found out today, I have a lot to learn about how to properly post on and use this forum.

I can't thank you enough for your warm welcome yesterday, and all your help today. I may never know how she got her crop impacted, but at least we could give her a fighting chance. She is a sweet darling, always talks and follows me around. I would be devastated to lose her.

You will get the hang of this site eventually. BYC is a big place and there is a lot of things going on!

If you want to post pics, after typing the body of your post, click on that little icon at the top of this reply box, that looks like a little scene. (2 to the left of the smile face) it says "Insert Image". A window will open up that you click on and it will lead you to your pc. Just download it here and then submit. It is easy once you have tried it. :)

And these pics you post here on BYC will stay in your albums that you can access from your profile. (top right button on this page that says, My Profile)

Thank you. I can't wait to star posting picks and getting people's opinion on my babies!

I'm still working on my gosling, she is refusing all food, even the boiled egg. Her head is still shaking and she hasn't pooped since that one earlier, could she still have a problem? Or could she be sick with something else?

Webbed footed birds need lot's of water and more just to
eat and if they are not making a mess it is because you
did not provide enough water
