I'm so sorry about Pipsqueak

. You made the best decision you could and thank you for finding the strength to be there with him in the end. Unfortunately, from what you described last night it seems unlikely that getting him seen a few hours earlier would have made any difference in the outcome.

I think you made the right decision, as hard as it was, you put him out of pain and that is the best we can do sometimes.

Thank you for the support. It's been rough with that empty place in my room. I haven't had the heart to sell or donate the cage so it's clean and stored away. But I did donate the food and hay and shavings to the shelter I work at....

He is buried next to my cat on our family's farm. I'll post pics sometime soon.

I think you did make the right decision.

What the one poster said about the vitamin C was spot on as well...guinea pigs need quite a bit of it. Fresh fruits and vegetables are usually eaten with gusto, and pellets offered should be the type made for guinea pigs and not rabbits for this reason. Just thought I would add to that, even though we have no idea what this particular pig's problem was. A lot of people don't know about the vitamin C thing.

Sure wish you did know, because it would make for informative reading. Hope you can help out another little guy soon!
