I know it's really hard, especially in small flocks, but birdmanmax is right.

If i had to put her to sleep. How would I go about doing it nicely. I hate killing animals and dont want her to suffer in the processes.

With that small of a chick the best way I think is a sharp knife or hatchet. Calm the bird down and just take the blade and apply a lot of pressure very quickly. Some people put the bird in a box and cut a whole in the box and hook it up to a car exhaust, it is painless and the chick will just go to sleep personally I don't like this method but you be the judge. You could also break the neck if done properly it is painless but if you have never done such a procedure I would not attempt it.

I know this sounds bad but truly the best way is to take a heavy butcher knife or hatchet and swing it down fast directly onto the neck.
