He is about 6 months old and he a good protector but he is driving me and my family crazy . heres the problem he crows all the time he does not stop , it could be morning, noon or night and any and all in between he does not stop. Anybody out there have the same problem or know what i can do to shut him up. please any info will help

All roosters do that. That myth about roosters crowing when the sun comes up is just that, a myth! Our roosters do crow when the sun comes up. And after the sun has only been up an hour or 2. And before noon. And at noon. And after noon and evening. Yep, pretty much off and on all day. I don't really think there is a way to stop it, they're not like dogs that you can train to not bark. And I don't believe you can get an anti-crow collar for your rooster, LOL! Probably wouldn't work anyway, its just their nature. I also hear roosters from far away throughout the day so I know we must have some neighbors around here that have some back yard chickens too. The only way I know of to get rid if the crowing is to do what we did. We got rid of our roosters!

Now we just have hens.

My roos only crow during the day and early morning before before sun up. They will sometimes crow if they wake up and see the light coming from the bathroom window for more than a few minutes. If I had one that crowed during normal sleeping time too often I would rehome or cull him.

I am not sure I been around roosters all my life too , but none of them had the urge like he does , I mean if he is not drinking or eating hes crowing.

I have 4; they crow at all hours of the day and night. Less when it is dark out, but it doesn't stop them. I love the sound, and it never wakes me up.

Ever live in a big city? Now that noise is 24/7 and much louder than where I am now. I'll take roosters any day, and 4x4's, and cows mooing, and the neighbor's roosters, and the neighbor's guns....

most roosters crow all the time... there is no way to stop them from it. don'tcha just love it???!! :)

look at it this way...... good thing it is not a longcrower... omg.... ( search that !) and you will be thankful to have just a few bursts of crowing during the day instead of listening to that.... (((my apologies in adv. to the longcrower owners out there...that is just ... 'godawfulest thing i have EVER heard)

Mine will not crow anymore. He is a bantam OEGB (the only one to live) and all my hens are standard. When he started to crow they would peck him on the head after three days of that he does not make a sound.

Do you have other roosters in your area????? before i got my rooster, i used to hear some roosters crow in the distance at around 3am, now that i have one, he hears them and responds to them around that time, he must hear other roosters and he is just responding.
