If you don't pick them up...they will die there. They cannot be returned just yet as they need some TLC. I know you are in a predicament but I don't think I could sleep knowing that those chicks were sitting there dying.

I agree you should pick them up. You can feed out of anything and the bathtub is a great idea as long as you cover so not slick. I think we all understand not having extra money but if you get them home and settled you will settle and be able to think straight get your info together ie. who and when you canceled with. they probably wll not take them back but craigslist is your best bet. They will sell if you have a fleamarket too be calm. all will be well

I ordered online and then a few hours later CALLED and cancelled that order and made a phone order. I'm not sure how I am to blame as at no time did cackle hatchery tell me this was a big deal. THey were very polite and helpful and it seemed to be no BIG DEAL.

PLEASE go pick them up. It will make no difference to how Cackle will handle the charges. Don't leave them at the post office to die. It's not the tour you signed up for but please focus on the babies right now. They need food, water and heat. Like someone else said, set them up in your bathtub for now if you have no where else. You can rehome them shortly. You can wait to call Cackle AFTER you get them settled in. If you leave them at the post office or try to ship them back, THEY WILL DIE. Trust that Cackle will handle this professionally but step up and get those fuzzy butts looked after.
