Help Help Help! Hatching emergency and I need info!

Oh good, that does put my mind at ease knowing that he isn't bleeding irregularly or anything!

Now he isn't moving very much....he has stayed in the same position in there, but we can see little movements, a little slied here or there, and some little body movements under the shell. I assume that they just kinda chill like this while they are absorbing the yoke/blood and then make more movement when they know they are ready to go yes?

If you would like to email me, my email is [email protected] . Then I can just email you if I have any more questions, since you seem to know what your doing!

Also, at what time do you think I should start worrying about poking a hole where the air cell is? Can he breath where he is right now? Sorry, I jsut don't know too much about hatching eggs right now! These are my husband's ducks, and he just figured we'd leave em out with the parents and birth naturally with no complications <XP that was a dumb assumption!

I have a feeling that we are gonna be ok! A small piece of the outer shell is off the shell and on the ground, so I think he is starting to make some moves! There are also some little crack lines developing at the botto (leg side) of the shell, so I am hoping he'll hatch at anytime! I'll take a pic in a few and post progres.....

I heard a couple very little peeps! XD That makes me happy and hopeful! Does that mean he has broken into the air cell? There is still no open crack/holes on the side where the head is (I assume (because I can not candle it here at work) that the air cell is where the head should be), but there are crack lines developing in that area, so he should burst out of there soon yes? Should I help him, or at this point do you think he's good enough to do this on his own?

It sounds like he's doing awesome! Peeps mean he has broken into the air cell--he can't make noise without air any more than you can talk underwater. So he is breathing--yay!!

Since he's making progress, I would just let him do it. The more he does himself, the healthier he'll be when he gets out. The process of hatching builds strength, and the exercise helps with absorbing the yolk and closing off the blood vessels in the membrane. Yay!

Keep us posted. He may hatch before you even get home. Woot!

However, by the way, don't freak out if he slows down or takes a nap. Normally, this process would take at least two days. He will probably be faster than that (my experience with dented eggs is that they tend to hatch faster for some reason), but he may still take long (frustrating lol) breaks.

Will definitely keep everyone posted and post progress pics! He's not peeping a lot, but I did hear just a few little ones! So excited, I want my baby born! XD (...and hopefulyl sonner than later, I've only been waiting 4 hours now and this has been killin me!) <XO

rofl everyone always asks me that! While I am a HUGE Firefly fan (cosplayed from it too XP), my name has bene reaver since before Firefly was even conceived. Actuall got it from teh video game Soul Reaver, but Reaver has been my username since I was 14 years old ( now 25). Used it as my cosplay alias at anime/sci fi/comic convention and such, and its just stuck with me! XD

I don't know what cosplay means (which just goes to show, perhaps, that I'm not as nerdy as I think I am, alas, or maybe it just means I'm not very cool which I already knew), but I am a huge Firefly fan. Best show ever. And the movie makes me so happy.

lol cosplay=costume+play. Its like the dorky people who go to comiccon and dress up as characters! My husband and myself do cosplay all of the time, dressing up as characters from animes, video games, movies, and comics and such. Very fun hobby if you liek to craft and sew! But I'm still an agri-girl by heart!
