HELP, HELP I SCREWED UP.. he's still alive

OK this isn't your fault. He wouldn't have hatched anyway. You mainly see that fluid.. kinda looks like Karo syrup stuff, when your humidity is too high. Although I've had perfect hatches with a random egg like that. So.. ya know. It is what it is. He was probably backwards, that's why he never internally pipped. Yolk the size of a dime isn't that bad. He had another few hours to go, but he still hadn't gotten air from internally pipping yet.

Don't be too upset about it. :) I know it sucks though.

Yes the fluids is exactlly like Karo syrup, I have the humidity at 70% should I decrease it, I have 9 other eggs still to go??

Lac, you need to keep it high now that they are pipping a d prepping to hatch over the next couple of days.

Quacker was referring to the humidity being too high during incubation leading up to lockdown. Often sticky babies with the thick fluid in the shell are the result of humidity being high during early incubation. Sometimes they are just random single eggs that are off in a hatch.

Do not open the incubator or mess with the eggs remaining. They won't just pop out as they rest between pipping and moving into position to hatch.

but that's the thing they aren't peeping, if that one is sticky like that, will all of them be like that and if so is there anything I should do???

I am so sorry about your duckling,

I hope the rest hatch healthy.

one thing i can say is you've got a great team of ladies { I refer to as hatch patrol} who can help you.

Thanks for that clarification Celtic.

Just because one is like that doesn't mean they all are. Where are they at today? Any change?

LOVE YOU MISS LYDIA!!!! :)

And today is day 28 right? Hang tight. You'll surely see a pip soon. I have 2 here hatching right now that internally pipped 2 days ago and just this morning managed to make an external pip.

Slow little buggers.

Don't ever open an egg before its due date. Sometimes the baby inside just needs a break. Yo would be tired too if you were in that little egg. Wish you luck!
