HELP, HELP I SCREWED UP.. he's still alive

That's sad,,,I know it's hard to not let the curiosity take over,,but I learned over the years never to bother the eggs unless they haven't hatched and it's well over 2 days..but you live and learn. You shouldn't punish yourself too much.
once , a mother duck threw a half hatched duckling out of the nest and it looked dead,so I removed it and it wan't!! So I took care of it,and it lived amazingly !! don't know why she did that,,but that's worse! being pitched out by your own mom,,shame on her! LOL

What could happen to them if you do? OMG, because your not going to believe this, last night the humidity went down so to get it back up I misted them, boy did they all start to wiggle, I don't know if that's a bad thing or a good thing???? HA HAHA Just go ahead and SMACK ME, Everyday it's something with me.. LOL.... If they don't die on there own, Looks like somehow I will end up killing them.. lol... Poor things should run while they have the chance.... LOL..

OMG you should really stop messing with them. Eggs are a one-stop shop. They'll do their own things, they don't need to be helped, or have their shell removed? (Why would you do that??) We raise calls and have learned that after lockdown just WATCH don't TOUCH. 26 days is about right +/- a day or two.

I was trying to get the humidity up, it went down, was I suppose to allow it to just stay down into the 40's??????

I wasn't helping, I thought it was DEAD....

i disagreee. its not a one stop shop sometimes eggs need to be assisted.
without assistance my last 4 hatches would have been a wreck.

i personally believe you did the right thing. and yes by all means if ur humidity went that low you needed to get it back up fast or these guys would be shrink wrapped

Agreed.

People have told me I concern myself too much with humidity levels....but my hatch rates are higher than theirs.
In this case, I believe misting was a good judgement call. :)

....and lets lay off lacrystol. :)

We all make mistakes....and its pretty clear she feels awful about it, having the ducklings' best interests at heart....
What's done is done....lets just focus on helping.
:)

Misting was an Ok choice. If it drops again run the tap until its super hot water. Fill a bowl add a sponge and place in the bator. Even if it means removing one already in there. The steam will help increase humidity quicker for you. Now hopefully you don't have to, but atleast you know for future hatches.

OMG WE HAVE A CRACKER, ONE OF THE EGGS IS CRACKING!!!!! It's a miracle, absolute miracle, after all I PUT THEM THROUGH ONE IS COMING,!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I don't think I'm ready, I can't breathe, omg, they are coming.... YIPPPPPPIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
