I can`t see it either, but I couldn`t on the last chick I hatched. I could tell it was breathing air as the membrane was going up and down in breathing movements. I took a chance and broke through it when the vessils had gone right down, about 7 hours later, and hatched it out. The head was kind of central. Goodness knows how it had pipped the membranes as it wasn`t facing the right way.
All I can say is go slow, because those vessels are very fragile. If you do happen to make one bleed, just get a piece of clean kitchen towel and press on it very gently, or sprinkle a tiny bit of cornflour on it.
