HELP hen dying

That could be lice eggs. If you haven't already done so, treat her with a permethrin based poultry dust or spray. An infestation can weaken a bird and they can also become anemic if it's severe.

You may want to cage her so she can rest.
Place her in a kennel inside the run or near the flock in a shaded area and provide her with vitamins as described in my previous post and her normal feed. You can also give her some beef liver to see if that will help give her a boost.

Keep us posted.

I will ahve to use a serienge to feed her.She wont drink or eat.As of currently she is resting in my geese cage, getting frehs air and drying off.I treat her yesterday and all the rets of my flock. She laid another egg it was osft shell.

Beginning to think she is having an egg issue, she is a high egg producer breed, and she is over 3 years.

May it possibly be a niacin issue? She still is having a very difficult time standing/walking,but in general seems a bit better. She is responsive to "here chick chick chick_.but will not drink/eat on own.

feeding her is so difficult, really hope she catches on.

The post about serienge feeding her was suppose to send yesterday,so all that happened yesterday and the treat meant was Wednesday.

Vitamins like Poultry Nutri-Drench or Rooster Booster Poultry Cell should have what she needs.

How does her abdomen feel- any bloat, swelling, hardness, feeling like it has fluid in it?
The soft shell eggs, her breed and her being lethargic/sick could be an indication of an internal laying/reproductive disorder like Egg Yolk Peritonitis, Ascites, cancer or tumors. There's not much you can do but give supportive care (keeping her hydrated, eating, etc.).

Soft shell eggs are very hard to pass and if she had any leakage of whites/yolks into the oviduct (shell wasn't strong enough to come out intact) she could have an infection. If it came out whole, considering offering her extra calcium to see if that helps.

Keep us posted.

Just a little update-The hen is doing fabulous, actually eating, and is really taking water from the serienge. She is able to stand and is responsive to just about everything she was before she got sick, she still cant walk and is still a bit lethargic, but obviously, she is getting better.

Her wings seem to be helping hold her up.

This morning she is standing for long periods at a time, can I give her a vitamin c capsule and break it open and it put it in her wtaer?
