Help hen having trouble breathing, pale comb!

She seemed a little better this morning and was actually drinking on her own, still not eating much. Mouth breathing again tonight... She seems to have more phlem in her mouth/ throat at night. Think I may have seen a couple of small yellow spots towards the back of her throat... She wasn't being very cooperative, tried to take a picture but didn't come out clear. Any ideas? Are the spots related to her breathing issue?

She is still mouth breathing tonight but she is tucked in and trying to rest so I will leave her be and hopefully get some sleep myself. We'll see what morning brings... Good night all

The small yellow spots could be Canker - Does her breath stink?

How many days do you have left with the Tylan50? Metronidazole is used for the treatment of Canker - I quickly looked in the Plumb's Vet Drug Manual and did not see any contraindications between the use of Metronidazole and Tylosin, but do some research, I don't know if I would completely stop the Tylan unless you have a good number of days left.
Canker is cause by a protozoa is usually identified by yellow plaques or lesion inside the beak and throat. It can be found lower in the crop and esophagus as well, she may not have canker, but it would be something to research to see if her symptoms fit. I would try to take a close look inside the throat/beak if possible.

Since she is struggling more at night, you may want to try to tent her and treat with Oxine as well. I have never used it but @azygous has. I have read very good things about it's use, so it's something to look into.
She explains the use of Oxine in this thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/coop-flooded-now-sneezing-wheezing-chickens.1257244/ (look for all the posts by Azygous)

Her mouth doesn't stink... I could have my wife check too. I will definitely check out more info on canker, luckly I do have metronidazole if we need it.
Her first full day of tylan 50 treatment was Saturday. I too have read good things about oxine recently but don't have a way to order it at this time.

Having a helper when you do an examination if great! Hopefully it was just some food inside the beak, but I would re-check to see if there is canker or some type of obstruction in there. The mucous/phlegm accumulation is not good.

It does sound like she could benefit from Oxine vapor treatment. This stuff counters both bacterial and viral infections. Used with the Tylan, it could tip the scale in her favor. Even if you have no vaporizer, you can mix up a quart spray bottle and spritz her in the face several times a day. You can order it here. https://www.revivalanimal.com/product/oxine-animal-health-ah?sku=15101-801

Here is a write-up on Oxine to help you learn how to use it. https://www.shagbarkbantams.com/the-many-uses-of-oxine-ah-animal-health/

One of these days, I'm going to order some of that! I need to clean out my coop completely later this year (oh, the dread!!! LOL), I hear it's good for cleaning too. Carol, have you tried it for cleaning or just for illness?
