Help: Hen or Roo ?

Hi all!

This little sweetheart is a Sapphire Olive Egger we got here about 5 weeks ago? We love our little chicken, but we are worried she may be a he and we sadly can not have roosters where we live... What do you guys think?

The chicken is super friendly, but very curious. One of my three that is always the first to adventure and say hello to you.

If its just 5 weeks, good chance its a cockerel.

The comb should be getting some color to it. Right now I say pullet, but post more pics in a few weeks

Looks like its a pullet at this point due to small pale comb and wattle. But yes, as it gets older, you need to post more pics.

Unfortunately you have a cockerel. If it wasn’t for the wattle development I would say pullet.

I realize you said you got the bird 5 weeks ago, but how old was the bird when you got it? Was it a tiny little day old chick or was a started chick that was 1,2,3 or more weeks old at the time? If you're not sure you can post photos of when you got it, if you have them, and we can help you age the chick from those

They were about a week old when we got them. And I looked back in my pictures it seems we got them 6 weeks ago actually. So that would make them about 7 weeks . That is a picture of her/him a few days after we got them all.
