HELP! Hole on top of crested duck head!

Have you noticed her scratching this area? Do you happen to have a product called nu stock?
I have not seen her scratch the area, although has started to almost "whip" her head to one side at times, but I am not sure if that is because the weight of crest is more on one side (picture below). I do not have that product, is it something I should look into getting?

Have you been putting anything on it? Not necessarily it’s just one good one to have. I’d say her crest is huge. Have you tried trimming to take off some weight?

I have been applying both an antiseptic and an antibiotic ointment! I had read in another forum that it might be best not to trim a crest, But then again I am not sure if it would be a bad thing or not if I did trim the crest?

As long as you keep the skin in view while trimming I can’t imagine why it would hurt her. Crested ducks can have neurological problems Have you seen info on it? having that huge a crest has to weigh a lot, I’d try trimming some to just see if that help with the way she’s doing her head. And keep applying the antibiotic ointment to her head. You’ve checked her over for external
Parasites?

I will try trimming it a bit, I also have been hesitant because she does not like to stay still for long! I have seen some info on those issues, she is only a month old so I have not seen any abnormal behaviors so far from her. She has been checked over and I have not seen any signs of external parasites! I am just worried because although she is not showing any signs of being in pain, will this area heal or regrow her feathers

Update: it seems tonight her gap is very itchy I am trying to stop her when she reaches to itch, but as you can imagine she is still going for it. She ended up itching the area creating a gash, please advise what I should do to help prevent her from reaching to scratch so the area can heal!
