Help! How can i get my ducks out of the pond?!

You need a good dog. One not afraid to chase them out of the water and heard them to the duck house!
Better not! The walls of that pond are really steep and the ground is pure loam, i would be really afraid for the dog, it may need to be rescued. And afaik dogs are slower in the water than ducks…

Just wondering if you were able to get your ducks out of the water. My ducks are a 1 1/2 yrs old so they know the drill but I used to (& sometimes still have to) coax them with treats. Mealworms specifically and shake them around in the dish & they come running. But like I said, they are "trained" . They know the sound. But in training them, I began by throwing just a few in the water: trying to make sure they realized the mealworms were coming from the dish, and shaking the dish around so they could hear them. It didn't take long. Now in the evening, all I have to do is walk past the water towards the pen, say "Hey kids," & they see/hear me & follow. If I have to put them in early, then I sometimes need to coax more, but they are quick learners. Just like dogs & kids, I have found that keeping a routine for them is a big help! Good luck!

The young ducks stayed on the pond overnight and fortunately they all made it without frostbite or being eaten. In the morning i let the rest of the flock loose and they ran straight up to the pond where they stayed over the day. In the late afternoon everybody came back home. I guess the old ducks talked serious with the younglings...

Yeah, they for sure have talks! I have 3 that we adopted & they are a year or so older than the other 5. I'm glad they were all safe overnight & back with the flock!

I have tried everything from lasers... speed boats for the pond...

The only thing that works reliably to get my ducks out of the pond and into the coop is a drone. Literally.

I fly it out over the pond... and the ducks are scarred of it, they get out and go to bed every day... the drone guiding them to the coop.

It takes practice and isn't for 'beginner' drone operators, but it works! A small 50$ mini drone investment can solve this problem, at least it did for me!
