Help! Humidity advice for large detached air cells!

Also so should I leave them upright like that for lockdown? I’ve read a lot of advice saying I should keep them upright but every picture I see posted of hatchings has eggs on their sides.
Yes, keep them in cartons. You do need to cut off the bottoms so that there is good air flow

thank you! Yes cut off the bottoms on the carton. Will they really be able to hatch sitting up? How come I never see any photos of that? Is it just rare?
Eggs like yours hatch better that way. Regular eggs hatch well sitting up too.

They don’t look too awfully bad to me either. I’d also leave them upright for now, and leave the humidity on the low side. Then 3 days before hatching, when you really raise humidity, you can re-access whether to leave them upright or lay them down. Lots of folks hatch with them upright, so it’s usually fine, if you choose to do so.

I hope you do get a couple to hatch!

Is there a local source for hatching eggs?

Thank you! not that I’m aware of. I ordered these from North Carolina. I live in south jersey so they journey pretty far. I just wanted to add a few to my flock. I lost a couple over the winter. Thought it would be fun for my kids to see a hatch and being furloughed and in quarantine this is really the only time I think I’ll have to be able to constantly monitor eggs. If we do it again I’ll try to find local and I’ll invest in an incubator. I’m actually pretty happy with the one I made and the thermometer/hygrometer actually has an app so I monitor the temp and RH from my phone anywhere on our property. I’ll send an update on hatch day! Send positive vibes!
