Ah, and I'm now caught up. Got to go catch my naughty Narraganset hen since it's dark. I caught her sneaking out under the gate and found her on a nest with ten eggs. Even if it had been in a safe place, I cannot/will not go into winter with another ten brand new poults. See ya'll...

She can have babies in the spring. In the barn or a broody coop. I feel really bad about it, but winter here is significantly longer than summer and it's stalking us already.

She climbed into the chicken coop & seemed pretty happy to see they had left her some food. No meeping, so maybe she's not too sad. I think I might be anthropomorphizing just a little bit.

Mine is rectangle. It's also abnormally deep. I like the square!
