We used to hunt property in Mississippi that was far from our camp and found it easier to get a motel room for the weekend when hunting it.

We used to hunt property in Mississippi and it had an old house that someone's great-grandmother was born in, that we used to sleep in, pot belly stove, outhouse, the whole works, it was great. I miss those days.

No skunk today but raccoon #7 that had been managing to get eggs out of the trap without being caught. It got one out this time but tripped the trap when it went back after the second egg.

We got another male possum, seems we get one male and about 2 weeks later another male shows up....... DUH

Finally got one on camera. Yes it did move the trap but the camera didn't catch the trap being moved.

That's a big guy, takes up the whole trap!!!!!!

Another tip..... Neck makes THE BEST roast. Low and slow. No cleaning, or trimming. No searing. Just plop it right into a crock pot with some beef broth and bouillon. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion and it's done in no time. Took a couple deer to mom's to butcher. Put this neck in as soon as I got there. It was done by the time we were on deer 2.

Right! So easy to cook too. No mess or fuss. Just pull hide off and plop into pot.

There was an area that was pretty wooded on the east side of the city, until they put an interstate spur thru. We would drive slowly at night, with the headlights on and people sitting on the car hood and shine rabbits, back in the day

There's a place here that sells all kinds of exotic meats, but of course, they're expensive. Maybe some of my neighbours up in Oregon will be hunters and I can trade quail and quail eggs for some of their meat.
