This morning when I went to let my chickens out I found a dead chicken. When I picked her up she looked find but was skinny. Now I am worried about the rest of my chickens.
It is cold here in Missouri but I have a heat lamp at night and I close the chickens in at night and let them out every morning. I am feeding an egg layer mixture called All Flock. We were giving them a medicated feed to fight off some runny poop but now they are back on a high protein egg layer mixture. They also get fresh food like spinach, romaine, apples without the seeds, tomatoes, etc.
The hen that died is less than a year old and just started laying a couple months ago. I did have 17 chickens and it is cold so my chickens are not laying everyday. The chicken that died was a dark brama.
Please any ideas would be great.
