HELP! I have a chick and don't know what to do with it.

And I bet a professional photo shoot takes some planning, doesn't it? GREAT photos.

Naw not really. I just threw him on top of the washing machine and setup two flashes, it was a five minute project before he went back in his little bird brooder thing. Hopefully today I'll get some more. He got all nice and furry and is already forming little feathers on his wingtips, he's a hyper little guy and is eating the starter crumbles like they are going out of style. Had another egg due yesterday, looks like a no-go on that one.

Don't give up on your egg too soon. They can take a little longer to hatch sometimes. I've also had them that I didn't think anything was going to happen, then I went down about an hour and a half later and a fluffy chick was staring at me!! I just didn't see the pip in the shell, and the little bugger didn't waste any time getting out

can't wait to see updated pics of Chirpy!!

Beautiful chick and that little tan beard is way too cute. I think it's a roo.
That's one of the best pics I've ever seen...your photography skills are excellent!

What kind of chicken is it?

Ah, a Chirpy Cockeral Rocky Rhode.

A little cuttie that will give his Rock Dad a run in the yard come summer.

Did the second one hatch? If not, you have to set more eggs right away.

So far Chirpy is still the only one to hatch. I am completely amazed at how fast he has grown, it is unbelievable!

This is an update photo at 25 days since hatch:

Looks like a rooster. I hope he will be able to get along and be accepted when it's time to go outside this spring. I don't have a lot of chickens, at the present it's his mom and dad and two other hens.

It's harder to get him to hold still for a photo too. I was trying to get him to pose next to the egg again for a size comparison, but he kept running towards me and a moment after this was taken he stomped it.
