HELP! I need answers!!!

I noticed almost no runny noses tonight, but still some sneezing as if there is something still in there. I would say that's better than it was.

Well most of them seem to be acting much livelier, except for my BLR Wyandotte cockerel. Everyone piled out of the chicken door this morning and when he stumbled out, he had fluffed up feathers with his head sunk in and was acting similar to my Sebright that died. I quickly separated him and put him in a cat crate in the heated garage bathroom. I was already late for work so I'm having someone mix his own antibiotic water for him and they'll give him some scrambled eggs with garlic.

I hope I caught this one in time. He's going to be very pretty, and I was going to get rid of most of my other roosters for him.

Everybody keeps telling me that I probably need a heater and that they are dying because they are cold. Most of these people, of course, have never even owned chickens.

Everywhere I've read on here says that as long as it's not too drafty and the chickens aren't wet, they can basically handle any tempurature. It's been about in the mid-teens lately, and even colder at night sometimes. I have a 10x10 coop made of sheet metal and wood, pole barn style, and there aren't corners on the edges of the coop, but I've stuffed most of them with hay.

I'm very reluctant to put a heat lamp out there. It would require a big extension cord and I've heard and SEEN so many horror stories.

Think that could actually help my problem?

If they are sick they need a heater, period. FWIW, I have healthy, fully feathered peachicks, but it's way too cold for them to be outside, and it's never colder than 25 degrees at night.

A sick chicken does best in a room or cage that's 80 or more degrees.

here is what to do cut up garlic mix it with its food it works hope you chicken is ok

He is much more lively now! Sorry that I haven't been on in a few days. He's been making a mess in the garage bathroom, but I think we are just going to bite the bullet and put a light in the coop. We have to mount the extension cord on the wall so that the hay isn't exposed to the electricity. Is it bad for them to have a light going all night? Will that mess with their internal systems and whatnot. I don't really have a problem giving my chickens the egg laying breaks that they naturally need. It's been about a constant 10-15 degrees though, and I want to give them some heat, I think.
