Help identifying female button quail call

Our female king / button quail laid six eggs and seems to be trying to hatch them. She makes this call every once in a while. Any ideas on what it means?

Mine only make that call when they are setting. What it means I have no idea!

I think she's trying to scare either you or the roo away from the nest. Not sure though. I've heard mine make a similar sound when they are broody, but I've never been looking at them while they did so I'm not sure they make the sound the same way. I've always referred to it as 'angry chirping'. Usually they do it while leaving the nest.

@DK newbie , is most likely correct, some kind of a warning call but I just can't say for sure what it means.

I refer to that vocalization as "I'll tear you a new one... don't believe it? Just try me!"
