Leave it alone because it's absorbing yolk and just needs sleep in a container on paper towels. Leave in the incubator or Brooder..View attachment 1730039 View attachment 1730040 View attachment 1730041 The previous chicks bottom seems to be shrinking. But the last chick hatched a couple hours ago, with what appeared to be an “umbilical cord” still attached. It eventually fell off but I’m noting she’s teally struggling, and upon further inspection, has swelling in her abdomen and a swollen area on the left of her neck. Can I do anything? Should I give her nutridrench and antibiotics? Or is this hopeless
Ok. She’s cheeping And flailing around because she’s trying to stand but can’t because her neck won’t straighten out. Is that part of the same problem?Leave it alone because it's absorbing yolk and just needs sleep in a container on paper towels. Leave in the incubator or Brooder..
Possibly..Definitely leaving it is the best because aspiration on fluids is an issue. It needs to be confined to a container if you want to try to save it. I personally cull if no hope.Ok.
