HELP! Incubator quit day 26!

Yes we are on day 27. I have this little "incubator" sitting inside our big brooding box, and the temp around on the outside of the "bator" is about 90 degrees. Could I move hatched ducklings to that outside or do they have to fluff up in the incubation environment? I have a much larger pan I could be using but thought it might be harder to focus the heat from the lamp. Suppose I could still just move everthing to the bigger pan but have them sitting close together still and ten they could spread out when they emerge.

Ok I will wait until after 3pm today to wonder if i should help the first pipper; that would be about 24 hrs since he broke through. Hope he just moves along on his own and gets those others going!

Added the towel and humidity went right up.

OK no we don't want to help at this point, we have to give them until there due date, so we have ONE more day yet, So if they haven't externally peeped by tomorrow, then we can give them a safe hole, but I don't think we are going to have to take it to that point. Sounds like once you boosted up that humidity they were relieved and able to make some progress.

They will need there temp at about 95 then each week you decrease that by 5. But in your case, you need them in something where the temp will be 100 until they fluff up. because there is NO way they are going to do well in that little tiny container, with that Plastic on top oh they will just Knock that right off, so once they hatch, your gonna have to move it elsewhere, which Stinks because the first one ALWAYS is the best one because he will get the others going. But you can't keep him in that small of a container, if you want the others to succeed.

On the morning of Wed. March 11th
Thank you! I think I need it lol

OK so here's how you figure out your days, if you look on your calendar, underneath March 11 is March 18, That's one week. Down one more March 25 that's two weeks, April 1 is three weeks, April 8th is 4 weeks.

4 weeks TIMES 7 days is 28 days.. So TODAY is there due date. GOOD, they are RIGHT ON TIME..

Speaking of Time, Time doesn't NOT matter to a duck, SO it doesn't matter if you put them in Morning NOON or night has absolutely no barring..

Ok got it. I read someone say that the dirst 24 hr cycle is counted as day one and then you go from there. Makes sense now why these guys are busy - I was wondering why they were kinda early! I will figure out a better situation for what they are in asap and will fill you in on what I come up with.

LOL, I heard that the first day you put them in 24 hours is counted as Day Zero, that's just silly, to me, it's easier to just look on your calendar and do that count down.

OK, this should be Interesting seeing how you already invented an incubator. LOL

Okay, so I don't know why I didn't just do this in the first place instead of trying to make brownies out of the poor eggs. :p Sterilized the inside of this styrofoam cooler, a few stones to help hold temp more steadily, and I had another jar in there with steamy water to boost the humidity up quickly since there's more area to fill, but just took that out because as you can see the humidity is plenty high. Temp is holding at 99.5/100. Quickly checked on the babies during the move and three are definitely internally pipped now (saw thei beaks opening & closing!), and I am pretty sure the fourth hasn't quite gotten through yet. No external pips. Heard a lot of peeping when I first moved them to the new setup - maybe they like it? Maybe they're totally T.O.'d at me taking them for such a crazy ride these past couple days. I may still make some tweaks... Maybe move them to the middle? Probably not if it doesn't matter. Let me know if there are any suggestions!

OH NICE LOTS OF ROOM> WOOO HOO..

Just did a quick check in on them. All are internally pipped now, a couple are tapping away inside, a couple are just breathing inside... must be resting and exercising those lungs. Coming up on 24 hours since the first one internally pipped, but I have no idea when to make a safety hole because I don't know when that exact 24 hr mark is - I only know it was sometime between 3pm and 8pm that it pipped inside yesterday... just keep waiting? Any signs I should be looking for - like if it's getting tired or gasping in the air cell?
