HELP! Incubator quit day 26!

I've been outside building a new area for my ducklings all day. I mean ALL day. But we got it done and I think they like it. I walked them out my front door, and around the house thru the gate. Every time I left, they went back to the gate and laid down lol but every time I walked back outside, they ran directly toward me. We locked them up tonite to make sure they know where the heat is, so I hope I can sleep with them outside.

But.... I've been dying to check in on your little boogers, and sooooo happy they are all progressing!! So cute!!!! So happy for you! You did such a great job, kudos to you and to lacrystol!!!

I am sticking with chickens for now.. I will be busy with what I have coming for quite a while, and just want to enjoy the chickens. Thank you for your welcome.

So how's are little buggers today?

They are all doing wonderfully! I am relieved and happy to say I no longer have any worries about whether or not Crook and Twister are going be fine. Crook's neck is pretty much normal now - it's not easy to tell which one he is anymore haha! Twister has stood up just fine for his/herself while with the others and they of course all love being together. The only thing, which is no huge deal, is that when everyone eats Twister mostly just stands aside and watches and tries to grab whatever pieces of food land around on the floor of the brooder, so for now I have just been placing a couple little piles here and there to make sure he/she will get food. AND they're all just so stunkin' cute.

That's so sweet, they know their "mama"! How long did it take rhem to not be afraid of you and to imprint on you? So far our littles are terrified of the Giant Hand that occasionally invades their space. :p But when they hear my voice they talk to me like crazy, probably because I talked to them a lot during those couple of days of working on hatching.

So cool you were thinking about these little guys. It's really neat how a community of people can be connected through the world wide web. :)

Woohoo! You rock!!

I also have one that hangs back when I hand out treats. One always comes to me first, two others right behind, the 4th takes alot longer and usually after the treats run out! Haha. But he seems to be eating well with them, when I'm not so close. And so far, I think he's the only boy. I've got decent quacks from the others, so maybe its a male thing!

They run towards me, but not all the way to me, unless I have treats! So we're still working on it too! I try to move slowly, and take my hand to them slow and low. At their level. They don't run nearly as much now.

And I haven't been on in a while because we've been plenty busy too this weekend - planting fruit trees, sprucing up the duck house, putting up a greenhouse and trying to get it anchored well since we live among some seriously ridiculous wind... It's nice to finally sit down and say "hi" :)
