Help!!!injured chicken just started blood!!!

Many of us will treat what we can ourselves but are not able to take most our animals to the vet. If we can't treat the wound or illness... we euthanize.

The OP was not asked to do anything and is doing it from their own heart. There is nothing to sue for aside from it just adding extra stress. Calling animals control or other authorities and then if they can prove what you claim they may press criminal charges.

Video tape what you see... are there animals without shelter from snow or extreme heat? Are they without water? Have open fly infested wounds? Any of that type of stuff... pics/vids are time and date stamped and sometimes even location. They are not he said she said. Write down dates and what is seen or done for the animals to build a case for the authorities.

It's possible someone is coming by and not being seen, or that the owner made arrangements and someone has failed them and they don't even realize it yet. I'm SOOO nervous about leaving my animals for a week for our planned family vacation this year. But I have made arrangements and have to trust all be mostly well when I return.

@RAM1991 One day at a time! We can't save them all... we do our best. :hugs

How is that girl??? :fl

She may be doing it out of her own heart, but it’s also because the animals aren’t being taken proper care of.

We all have our own opinions, and I’m fine with that, I’m just trying to say these animals need better care.

This discussion has brought up a lot of things for me from the past. I lived in Arkansas for 6 years, three of which involved having an established methamphetamine lab down the road and a small meth lab next door. There was a constant stream of abused, neglected dogs from both places. We were constantly trying to save sick puppies--most of it ended in heartbreak--and even adopted a few. That was many years ago but no matter where I've lived, there are always animals needing help or rescue. @RAM1991 you've done a good thing here and I thank you for posting about this. It's heartwarming to know kind souls are out there still. :hugs

I don't think that is the case in this instance. Sorry. I know you want to think the best of people, but this is not that case.

Actually, being raised by heroin addicts... I don't think the best of people. I believe what the OP has stated, and that's why I tried to make suggestions on how to document the issues at hand and hopefully come up with a better long term solution. :)

Yes, I posted lots of benefit of the doubt type questions or comments to consider. Like the first scornful poster about being a good neighbor, I just know that things happen neighbors don't know about. Both my parents passed this year... when you face something like that animals (sometimes) become secondary. And participating in BYC has shown me that while I mostly think the worst about humans, there are MANY MANY more people that are really caring, warm, and thoughtful... that just isn't what the news reports focus on very often.
