I have a hen who was kind of walking hunched over and was trying to eat and drink. She was successful in eating and drinking but she kept walking around the coop hunched over and slower than normal. Her comb and eyes are normal and she's not breathing heavily. But her entire backside under her vent was swollen and mushy. I can't feel a formed egg. The tissue on her vent area that is swollen isn't hot but it is red and I don't know what to do. Is she egg-bound? Ive been having issues with mites and have been doing everything that everyone keeps suggesting that's why some of her feathers are missing. I have been dusting with Permethrin powder, they all have dust bathing areas, and also just cleaned and sprayed my coups again with Permitherin spray and sprayed all my fowl too. This is a new issue for us. Any idea what is wrong with my girl?

I wondered that too b/c her belly is soft and I cannot feel and egg. What do I do. ?? I have never experienced this before and I'm only a 3 yr chicken keeper so all this stuff is "new".
All you can do is take a needled syringe, & drain some fluid from the abdomen routinely as management. There's no cure, & there's many causes.

In the end the bird will most likely need to be put down in the end.
