Help! Is this Bumblefoot?

Quote:
At a regular pharmacy it's called Coban. It's very pricey. If you can wait until tomorrow and pick up Vet Wrap at your local agricultural store it will be cheaper.

With price of gas and the ag store 30 minutes away, I probably can just get the Coban. Thanks.

What causes bumblefoot? If I was closer, I would come do it for you, I think that kind of stuff is super neat! I worked at a vet several years ago and dealt with some grody stuff, but it's all a learning experience!

I use Gauztape from teh drug store... it is cheaper than the vet wrap at the pet store. It sticks only to itself and is water resistant. I've never had to have anyone help me with my girls' bumblefoot. I just lay them on their back in my lap... they calm down quickly and let me do what needs to be done. They rarely move.

Good luck...

Ok. So here's how it went. I plucked up some courage and went for it. Honoria really liked the bubble bath part of her "spa treatment" but not so much with the pedicure. She was actually a good girl, and it mostly went well, but it didn't quite look like the test book case in the photos. not one big cornel and more blood. Also, I noticed that she had worn away a couple of her toe nails to the point of nubs. This is where i got scared and took her to the vet. He said that I had done OK really - gotten the job 90% done. He cleaned it better and packed it with Silver Sulfadiazine cream (he said that was better than neosporin) and sent me home with 10 days worth of oral Sulfa-Trimeth, which he said the latest writings on Bumble foot recommended. I just thought I would share because everyone should know that not every Bumble Foot looks exactly the same, and it's a little scary when you're in there and it's not text book. Thanks everyone. I may have just spent a bunch of $, but I feel a little braver and allot wiser today.

Just to follow up, she is doing much better and the swelling is going down. I'll keep changing the bandage and keeping it clean for several days. I think this is something that I will have to keep my eye on since she is such an aggressive forager and scratches allot. Thanks everyone.
