So I have 10 ISA Brown pullets who just turned 18 weeks old today and 2 of them started laying last week and yesterday. The one that has been laying for about a week now has been laying beautiful dark brown eggs while the other one is laying light eggs with white speckles. I was just wondering if this is normal, if the eggs are still safe to eat, if it’s a calcium deficiency? I’ve been giving them crushed up eggshells so I don’t think it’s a calcium deficiency.
(Pullet that has been laying for 5 days on the left. Pullet that started laying yesterday on the right.)

I think it's just the bloom and totally fine and healthy and safe to eat. Different birds will lay different color/shades of eggs even if they are the same breed. I suspect if you wash that pale egg with warm water it might look a bit darker...
Thank you so much

Spray booth not up to par yet...or she may just have a lighter coating.
Speckles do look like bloom...when I zoom way in.

'Speckled' eggs can happen for several different reasons...very few, if any, of which are a 'problem'.
Can be caused by:
Excess or uneven pigment coating.
Excess or uneven cuticle(bloom).
Excess calcium deposits.
Porous eggs can appear speckled.
Some birds lay them consistently, some only once in awhile.
The pigment or bloom can change appearance when wet, then change back when dry again.

As long as bird is getting a good diet and is healthy in every other way, it is no cause for concern.
