First of all, congratulations on your unexpected pet. I never had any idea how endearing peas would be until I lived around them. They have a lot of personality, and you will definitely become very attached to Frankie. And don't worry about questions!
But other people are so much more qualified to answer than I am, so I hope they jump in here.
To tell you the truth, I bet she will be a bit lonely by herself. Peas seem to be really social and like to spend time together. I rarely see a lone pea here except during breeding season when the guys get territorial. Maybe you can get her a friend? I glanced at Craigslist and there do seem to be people selling peas not too far from you (well, what do I know about Ohio geography).
Questions about cold feet will have to be answered by someone else who doesn't live in California!
The peas here to a large degree fend for themselves on the food front. I put out sunflower seeds, bread, fruit and vegetables but often the other creatures around here eat that stuff. My neighbors also put out seed and who knows what else.
I would say that Frankie will be thrilled if you put stuff out but she looks healthy so she clearly knows how to find her own food too. They are very resourceful.
But I'm sure other people here will have opinions about the feeding question.
