Can I give this liquid to her with an eyedropper in her mouth? I've heard that you've got to get it down the right "pipe" and I'm not sure how to do that. This girl is not one that will come to me and eat out of my hand so I'll have to grab her and somehow get her to take this. I've got a couple of ducks that are pigs and the one with the problem is timid so if I put it in a treat I doubt if she'll be the one to get it.
I tried yesterday but she wouldn't open her mouth. I put in on a little Southern Baptist communion cube of bread thinking that it would soak in and she would like the bread. Not! I finally gave up and left the cube of bread in their pen and none of them would eat it. Not sure what to do now. Eyedropper forced in her mouth? I wanted to show you a picture of what I bought just in case it was wrong.Did you get the liquid B complex yet?
I'm sorry if I sound stupid but I think I'm going to have to use the towel methold and my question is do I force her bill open? Not sure what you mean by dropping it into her bill. I think even if I had meal worms, which I don't and means another trip to TSC, she wouldn't take them from me. She is one of the 3 older ducks and none have imprinted on me so basically they run when I get too near. If it was one of my 2 young ducks they would in a heartbeat but not her. That’s the right stuff. How about a small Amt of meal worms with the liquid over it? Or wrap her in a towel and gently drop it into her Bill so she swallows it.
thanks for the quick reply. I thought I had posted that 2 days ago but I guess I forgot to push the "post reply" button. I can segregate her but I'm going to try the eye dropper methold first. She won't like being alone but if I have to I will. You are a gold mine of information and I sure do appreciate it!You’ll most likely have to use a small syringe or dropper and pry her mouth open or try to get it in by just pushing it in which my not work but make sure not to shoot it down her throat just put in a small amount at a time make sure she swallows you can tip her head up so it runs down her throat but do this till she has gotten the 1 ml . Is there any way you can keep her in a separate pen but where she can see everyone? Then you could mix it into a little feed so she can get it that way a little feed some warm water and her b complex mixed together?
