I was told chicks shouldn’t be getting grit before 14 weeks of age. Also I do not feed grit to any of my other hens since they free range I assumed the chick would do the same and follow mom?
I have freaked out at the size of my girls’ crops from time to time, but just watch it, make sure it’s empty in the morning. What seemed abnormally large to me ended up being normal, and me just being a paranoid new chicken mom.
