Yup that's her crop! Totally normal. Make sure that is isn't always large and hard, this may mean she may have an inpacted crop. More than likely though it's just a full healthy crop.

Nothing to feel silly about. It takes years of keeping chickens to learn a lot about them. I've had chickens off and on since the 60s and I'm still learning! If you're ever in doubt, it's better to ask a question here than let harm come to one of your charges. This place is like the Library of Alexandria when it comes to chickens. You would be hard pressed to come up with a question that someone here doesn't have the answer to. Good luck to you and your new birdies!
