Help! Lonely duckling!

We had two ducklings that one of our mama ducks hatched and we brought into the house (all of the other ducklings died ) we just lost one of the two yesterday and don’t want to go buy another one (if whatever is killing them is contagious we don’t want to buy another just to have it die!).
Any ideas on what to do so it’s not so lonely? Thank you!

I just added a photo to the post.....we found him/her a little stuffed duck. I hadn’t thought of the mirror! Thank you!

Thank you.....we have lost fourteen ducklings this year.....so don’t want to get a companion for Feather if there is something wrong

Best way to know what’s going on would be to have a necropsy done. @casportpony I believe can help you find a place where it can be done.
