Help luring chickens to new coop

When I grab or move mine once they are the roost, they usually stick their rear ends up and their legs straight down. Just need to keep their wings down against their body. You could also try baiting them closer and closer to the new pen. I like giving them some corn, we buy the frozen bags of corn and I can walk outside and shake the bag and they would run to me from wherever they were at. We used to free range and they would be severel hundred yards away and run straight to me once they know they are getting the good stuff.

If it’s completely dark when you go “chicken pickin’” I don’t think any of them will jump down on their own. That would be like you or me jumping into a dark abyss. And with only three birds I wouldn’t think so much commotion would occur to accidentally knock one off. If it did, it probably wouldn’t go far.

Got it. I'll try tonight then after everyone goes to bed.
