please help! my mama hen sat on 8 eggs for 22 days, only 2 hatched and now she left the nest! what do I do with the other eggs? I don't have an incubatoror or a heat lamp, can I just wrap them in a very warm towel?

Do the two chicks follow her around? I'd suggest leaving the two chicks with the Mama hen if they follow along her. If she doesn't revive the nest, you could incubate them...

I just said I don't have an incubator, so what do I do with the unhatched eggs?

Sorry I didn't see where you said that the first time I read it. Yes, I agree. Neither am I. Hm... I would take half and leave them to see if there is any chance that the Mother would go back- the other half you could try putting a warm/hot towel over... But it would cool out quick and I'm not sure that it wouldn't suffocate the pores of the eggs...

I'm truly stumped and I'm sorry if I am not much help. In the meantime I will try my hardest to look into as many ways as you can save the little chicks.

You need to provide warmth in some fashion once you have determined that the eggs are viable. A heating pad, light, hot water bottle, bottle filled with hot water all may suffice as long as you are careful that the temp does not exceed 100 F.

If they've pipped internally then you could set them near a heater or fire and spray with water occasionally as long as they're warm and have some humidity. Otherwise I don't think there really could be a way to save them unless you diy an incubator, buy one, borrow one or have another broody. If and when the chicks hatch you should be able to slip them under her at night.
