Thanks for your offer, Adam! I may even take you up on it, but not for at least a few months. I won't be moving til at least June or July, and likely not til fall. At that point, I may wait til spring to add any baby chicks!
At the moment I'm thinking about maybe a partridge cochin roo. They're awfully attractive, AND they're supposed to have trouble breeding, right? So maybe I could squeak by without the exploding flock syndrome!
And just to help me remember, here's the list I've revised since this morning for my projected ideal flock:
2 Ameraucanas
2 gold-laced Wyandottes
1 black Australorps
1 buff Orpington
1 Welsummer
1 speckled Sussex
1 barred Rock
1 partridge cochin roo
