Help me choose a Coop!!

Not bantams....Dominique, barred rock and Wyandotte. I have no time or energy to make my own. Need a pre-fab one!
What about a Producer's pride defender?
I will say this bluntly, but without trying to be mean.If you don't have the time or energy to make a chicken coop, then you aren't going to be able to have time for chickens. You have very cold and snowy winters?Your going to be spending a lot of time shoveling.

I understand where you are coming from! Let me rephrase that and say I am the least handy person on earth. I chose to spend time WITH my animals, and not building/cleaning. I pay someone to do snow removal and clean all my animals:)

The defender is a better choice ... looks to be about what? 6'x5' of floor space? That should be plenty of room for eight girls and maybe as many as fifteen.

I have someone willing to build me this coops for $900. What do you think of this??

If your paying someone to CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR Animals, And Gt rid of Snow.....No, This is wrong.I'm very sorry, But these are PETS.Living, Breathing things. You can't just have them and play with them and then have someone do all the work.Thats not how it works.I love my pets, they are like my children, and just like a child, I clean up after them and care for them. You can EASLILY build a coop for your hens, Take what, Maybe 3 weekends?

Just to add about the defender ... the run ... make sure it is secure. Digging predators could slip under that. The most secure solution is to get a length of broadcloth, attach it to the bottom of the run's fencing and bury it several inches deep. If you have a few motivated friends with shovels it could be banged out in an afternoon for as little as pizza and beer money

Ummmm...ok. I have kids and animals and work full time in addition to rescuing animals. I will not apologize for paying a teenager $20 to clean cages and remove snow so he can supplement his allowance. Jeez!

They list the dimensions as 6x10 on this one ... but that is the whole unit, not the coop. For eight hens you need the floor space of the coop to be 16 sq. feet minimum. Between the three you list, I'd go with the defender
