Help me convert this dog run!

Given the 7 1/2' dimension, a cattle panel hoop has a lot of possibilities, yes. Three panels might just make 12.5' if you have the 50" tall ones, and you could always set a raised coop as the "back wall" of the arch. Tarp or polycarbonate panel that end as a roof, leave the "front" of the coop open for ventilation, and the rest of the roof either open or perhaps a shade cloth cover. Then its just a matter of putting something on the front arch to finish enclosing the space.

Maybe upcycle some of the old metal shed, condition dependant.

I would look at making a hoop over the chain link fence. Something like this... (use cattle panels or UV resistant PVC?)

And also consider converting the metal shed into a coop...

Yes I was also thinking about a hoop over the fence! But the metal shed is going to be thrown out. If I put a coop structure it would likely go right there though!

Yes I haven’t even started planning the ground yet. My backyard is a weird mix of poorly laid gravel, weeds and stepping stones? So I’m honestly not 100% sure what’s under all the dead leaves in the run at the moment but I’m going to be checking it out maybe this weekend!
They will LOVE cleaning up the weeds and rummaging through the dead leaves.

I’d like to make it predator resistant but still make sure I’m able to comfortably walk into the area (so not just adding a top at the current height of the fence). The pic you posted is definitely an idea though how does that work with the gate? Do you have to duck underneath the netting it or do you just have a gap there above the gate?

The netting at the gate is held in place with carabiners that can be unclipped in order to get in and out. Then I can lift the netting and duck underneath for access.

(I actually don't use this gate a lot, we have another gate on the other side where the netting is attached with enough slack that the gate can be opened and closed even with netting attached. This lower gate is used for getting a yardcart or other large objects in, as it has a wider swing arc.)

When you say modifying the fence, what specifically do you want to do?

I have a 4' chain link fence as part of my run, but have elevated netting 6' and higher to allow myself full access inside, using U-posts and tension wire and netting. I happen to have my coop available as the central support, but without that you would need to add some center supports too.

(Note that this is NOT predator proof, only predator resistant.)

I love this! I’m not one for colored coops but for some reason this purple just looks really pretty and fun. Your entire set up is very nicely done aesthetically.
