I'm pretty sure mine would try. I've had better hatching rates with these nests, because the bottoms are slightly curved.

I use a Lowe's bucket, as I am cheap. Lmao.

I have a couple of hens (one of which I call pancake) that will sit on the them for some period of time. I just don't think that period of time is 28 days, and I don't have an incubator.

Pancake already hatched a batch of barnyard mixes in January, and now seems to be brooding again. I'm honestly not a fan and she's probably going to get ice packs today, because month long crash diets are bad...

Mine are frequent broodies too. Lucy has gone broody 3 to 4 times a year every year.
This year I'm not letting the older girls sit. Lucy is blind and Maris has gotten unpredictable. She usually finishes a batch, but last year, I had to finish her eggs in the incubator & give the chicks to Lucy.
My other standard broodies haven't gone broody the last couple of years. (A good thing.)
This is the first year for my little cochins to sit. They have done really well.

I want to wish @SilverBirds a very happy birthday!

ICE PACKS! Thank you!

My air conditioner is having a problem today, so I'm leaving doors and windows open right now so my house cools down...
This is my cat, whom knows he is not supposed to go outside. He waited until I told him he shouldn't get closer to the mysterious outdoors, and then laid down... To apparently watch chirping sparrows. View attachment 3501047
What an amazing feline! My GirlChild* has a cat that comes downstairs and steals my cat's food. Wish I could get that cat to stay upstairs where she belongs! Both cats have the run of the house, but MY cat eats down here in DH's and my bedroom and HER cat eats in her bedroom, upstairs. At least that is the plan...

*GirlChild is my adult granddaughter, who is a student and still living with us. She is the light of my life and has me wrapped around her little finger, lol.

Well amazing is a strong word... Like every other toddler, he's well behaved while you're watching him. 🤣😂
