Help me figure out the sex please!

Hi, I’m new to BYC and I can use your help! I adopted a feral chick about 5 weeks ago (so I’m guessing it’s close to 6 weeks old). I’m not sure of the breed (brown leghorn?), and while I thought it was a girl at first, now I’m having some doubts.

Can you help me ID the breed and sex, please? Thanks!!

Could we have some better pics? At six weeks with that comb I am thinking cockerel.

Oof, comb at that age is almost certainly a boy

I was thinking cockerel lately, though the chick had a head lamp overhead in those pics. Maybe these are better?

I wouldn't give up on it being a girl just yet - given the unknown age it's not impossible. I just think of all of them as "HIM" until they prove themselves to be girls.

Although the comb is big, the golden duckwing like feathering indicates female. This could be a golden duckwing Phoenix.

I'm thinking boy but not 100% sure. Don't give up. Will you get more chickens in the future?

Yes - we built a coop and plan on getting a friend.
We can have up to 2 chickens on in our town.
