Look at that little face pushed up against the plastic just begging to be out in a brooder where he can run and drink and lay under the golden sun of a heat lamp...or the shelter of those other things you fancy people use to warm chicks with...lol

In all seriousness, this is the third time I have done this, and it's looking like it's going to be another great hatch. I've read that people think the Octo 20 is too small to hatch 24 eggs, but if you could see it in person, it's cozy. Yes, it's tight, but have you seen how tightly chicks get packed under a broody? I think the combination of peeping, body movement, and the warmth of the early birds laying against the hatchers keeps them motivated. They don't look stressed at all. When you walk into the room, they all perk up and start peeping for a few seconds, then all lay back down and go to sleep. If they were under my fancy pants heater, they would just be sleeping anyway
