Help me identify this plant - pumpkin? watermelon? gourd? squash?

The flowers look exactly like my butternut squash I have growing. But mine have no fruit yet so...I have no idea how they look when small.

I have to admit.....we have LOTS of random squash.

Some are because of our compost pile I think, others are just where Mom tossed last years bad pumpkins or where she planted something and is waiting to see what grows



So I think we have a bunch of zucchini/pumpkins

and pumpkin/gourds


Next year I plant the seeds!!!

Do you eat fried squash? I don't think it is too much different from fried zucchini, fried zucchini is delicious.

Well squash doesn't have to be good for you....especially if you make a pie out of it

You dump enough sugar and spices on green pumpkin, it does taste remarkably like apple pie. Even better with vanilla ice cream.
