Thanks but I rather use the no blood method, using a rotary tool with wood cutting disc to cut the spurs sheath and bone, leaving 1/4". The heat of the cutting took categorizes so stops the cut spurs from bleeding. Anyone interested in seeing how this is done, search "bloodless method of spur removal" on YouTube.

Stupid phone's autocorrect changed what I typed, "tool cautarizes" to "took categorizes." The heat from the cutting tool cautarizes as it cuts, so there's no blood.

Some Roos attack like that. We have had many roosters but only one bad one. He was fine with the hens, but terrible with me and my family. He was the only one that ever attacked us. I tried kicking him away and carrying a pole. Nothing worked. He eventually died and I can’t say I was unhappy when he did. He was a beautiful bird and the only one we ever hatched from our own eggs. We named him Fribble. I think he had a screw loose!

If you pick up the boy after dark (then they are easier to handle) and hold him down to the ground for 10 minutes. He learn that you are the boss. Do this every evening as long as needed , maybe for a week. But never trust him with children.
