I named my first chicks Cacciatore and Scallopini. Hubby named his roos Attila and Joe Bag O' Doughnuts.

You could go the route of a friend, she is naming all hers from characters from The Walking Dead. Her 2yo roo is The Govenor. She even has one that injured its leg last year as a chick and has the name Zombie shuffle or Zshuff to combine them. (The bird comes to it too)
I don't think she really has any normal or cute names for hers and they fit too. The Daryl hen is awesome always finding bug stashes.
My son named his Mo. Short for 'mo money mo problems'
But I secretly call her Mosey cause she's a fluffy cochin and does not look like a Mo in the least.
I'm getting 3 Silkies and he has the names picked out already. Pat, Patty and Patricia.
And no, my son is not a little boy... he's almost 17!
I like naming them after grandparents that have already passed. I think they'd feel honored because
they all had chickens when they were very young. So I have a Stella, Mamie and Chugg (that was a nick
name)
I've done themes like that with my dogs. My son's name is Andy so his first dog was Barney and the second one was Opie. Now he has three eggs in the incubator named Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod.You could go the route of a friend, she is naming all hers from characters from The Walking Dead. Her 2yo roo is The Govenor. Current Dog is Duke so I may have to name one of my girls in there Daisy. Roos may be Bo, Luke, Jesse, Cooter, well you get the idea. I'll need to work on more names for hens. Let's see, Mrs Tisdale, Lulu... Looks like I need to get watch some more episodes.
I'm might go a different route though since my recent fav is Once Upon a Time.

My grand kids got home from Disneyland yesterday and so I took a vote of their favorite names. Unanimously, the vote was for "Princess Layer." (The parents even joined in on the vote.) Peep-chicken, you are the WINNER! Under the circumstances, I think what you win is appreciation, fame, but regrettably no fortune!
So the four hens will be:
Princess Layer
Teak-a-tee
Pollybelle
Earleana (It was going to be Harriet the Hen, but I have decided to go with a derivative of "Earl." This a family name. Yet to be determined if she will be called Earl or Leana.
Thanks for all of the great ideas. I had so much fun reading everyone's ideas. I will be getting my baby chicks in about 3 weeks. Almost time to get the brooder set up and supplies.![]()
. Good luck with your chickies! They have some great names. You need to post pictures when you get them
