Help me pick out a modern game trio! Who is typey-est?

MoodyChicken said he liked the pullets in the second picture, which 545 is one of them so I would say to go with her. I am sure moodychicken knows what he is talking about. Practically anyone into modern games REALLY knows their chickens.

Also NYREDS said he knows the line and its good. Just breed as many as you can and you will get some good ones to pic and choose from.

My judge friend has a good line and he says that too if you have a good line you will get good birds. Not saying you dont need to pic the best, cause you do. But you will have a good start and go from there.

Thanks Tiki! I kind of have a strategy. I think I'll take the lower undubbed cockeral with 552 and 545. I hope the person who picks third will leave me with the older birds for the last trio. I am worried about the wing length in him but I think the bottom cock has the same dad and has decent wings. Might not though... Typing from iPhone so I can't check.

Thanks for the site! They sure make mine look humble. How can I get mine in better condition? Diet, baths, polishing? Should they get gamecock feed? I see they sell it in both maintenaince and conditioner. Anyone know the difference?

A good picture can do a lot too. I have taken some really crappy pictures of some fairly good birds and they just dont do them justice. You wont know for sure till you get them.

I found out what my second trio is. I get hens 540 & r28, and the floppy headed long winged cockeral 549. He better have a great personality! I'm so glad I get r28 though. I am really excited about it, I'm picking them up Sunday! I gotta get to building cages for them pronto.

Ah, don't take the lower undubbed cockerel. I'm not even holding him and I can see that he has rounded hips. Square hips are super important in moderns. Go with the bottom cock. that bird is tight and it looks like he's pure muscle. He's your number one choice.

Just for reference...

This is a super nice cockerel. He is what I call "the chunky type" meaning he's wider and has much more muscle. This is the type I prefer, and a lot of judges like it too. He has a wonderful tail, and great coloring (just pretend he's silver). Nicely tucked up too, and hard feathered.

This is a super nice hen. Her tail should be held slightly higher (just above the horizontal, trust me, the Standard says otherwise but trust me, judges like the perky tail). Otherwise perfect type and perfect head and facial coloring.
