help me pickbreeds please

any breed with a comb very close to the head and does not stand way up in the air are most of the time going to be a very cold hardy chicken...look for chickens with rose combs or similar comb type...and as long as your coop as plenty of ventilation at the top they will be fine.

At the risk of really sounding like a broken record, I really feel Orpingtons are a great match. Orpingtons mature very quickly, are nice and cold Hardy with great dispositions, produce good meat and lay well even in winter.

Rhode Island Reds lay even better, but have lesser quality meat.

you may also want to look into getting them from a breeder instead of a hatchery...breeders breed for the breeds standard of perfection and breed utility back in them so birds from breeders lay better and also produce more meat. and live longer than hatchery birds granted they are more expensive because of the time and money it take to breed the utility back in to them but they are worth a few extra dollars in my opinion...you can go to the Buy/Sell/Trade section on here and you may be able to find what you are looking for

Rhode Island Reds were THE supreme dual purpose fowl for a long period of time. But again as Lots A Cluckin said, buy from a breeder and don't waste time and money on hatchery birds.
