help me pickbreeds please

Since you're not on a tight time table, spend a lot of time looking at the Dorking and the Chantecler.  Both are great fits for your environment, both are fantastic dual purpose fowl, but the Dorking is going to be your superior meat bird while still giving a good number of eggs.
i will check them out :) thank you :)

With a family of 7 that would take care of everyone for a bit over a year. Lol!

It is wonderful to see a a family being self sufficient...caring for and raising animals teaches a very valuable lesson to kids...most kids now days dont even know where their food comes from they just think it comes from the store.

not my kids. I got my first birds (turkeys) at 13. I did all the upkeep. Even though they have not raised animals they have go.e to see farms our friends have.

Haha!  My friend has goats, they are awesome.  They make great butter and cheese, and my lactose-intolerant brother can drink their milk.  She sells the extra kids every year, too, so they are a good source of income
i have debated on goats...but they can be soooooo distructive.
