Hi my oegb got hit in the eye yesterday and it is shut with black stuff around it PLEASE HELP he is also my 4H project

I am sorry about your bird. You might want to get some pictures of the eye for a good idea what is going on with it, and then post this question in our Emergency section for more help with this....

Welcome to BYC. If you have some ophthalmic antibiotic ointment or drops, treat the eye with them. If you don't have anything with antibiotics, try flushing the eye with regular eyedrops.

The black stuff around his eye could be dried blood. Was he in a fight with another bird? Does the eye seem damaged at all?
