I hope he feels better! I have no idea what to do with this topic, but soak him in hot water. It may fall off and he will not be able to fertilize eggs.

Yes meant just water... I think I read that somewhere, but was so confused why it should be hot. Never trust books!

Did the doc have any idea what happened?
If you can get another duck, try to get one similar size. They go get lonely and do better with friends.

I hope your able to find your other duck a friend like WV said they do get lonely maybe even 2 more? Please let us know how you and they are doing.
